Clinical Investigation about Suspected the DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) : Case Report

Abstract
Objective: There are a few reports and books that look upon the Damp Leg Gi as the beriberi and the polyneuritis. In this case, the patient who is suspected the DVT(Deep Vein Thrombosis), is treated by oriental medicine on the view of Damp Leg Gi, because of the clinical symptom.

Methods: The patient was hospitalized Dept. of Oriental Rehabilitation Medicine, College of Oriental Medicine, Dong-Shin University from 18th, Oct. 2003 to 25th. Oct. 2003, and treated with Acupuncture therapy, Herbal medication, Depletion and cupping therapy and Oriental physical therapy. To evaluate the pain and edema of leg, Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and the measurement of leg circumstance are used.

Results: 1. The circumstance of the affected leg is decreased from 2.5Cm to 1¡¾0.5Cm.
2. VAS was decreased from 9-10 to 1-2.

Conclusions: In this case, the patient who is suspected the DVT(Deep Vein Thrombosis) treated by oriental medicine without a surgical operation or west medication on the view of Damp Leg Gi.
